If Today I Met Jesus

If Today I Met Jesus  If today I were to meet Jesus, and my life here came to an end I would be so excited to finally meet my eternal Friend. I would run up to Him, and look into His face I would be so very thankful for His endless supply of grace. I would drop down to my knees, and worship my everlasting King I would shout hallelujah and my praises I would sing. I would leap and jump with joy, as soon as my feet hit the floor I would be forever grateful He opened to me heaven's door. If today I were to meet Jesus, and I were to see my eternal Friend I know that I would be in paradise and my bliss would never end. by Deborah Ann Belka

Philippians 4:6 "BILINGUAL"

Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything; tell God your needs and don't forget to thank him for his answers. —Philippians 4:6 God has never promised to remove all our troubles, problems, and difficulties. In fact, sometimes I think the truly committed Christian is in conflict with the society around him more than any other person. Society is going in one direction, and the Christian is going in the opposite direction. This brings about friction and conflict. But God has promised, in the midst of trouble and conflict, a genuine peace, a sense of assurance and security, that the worldly person never knows.

Transformed by Temptation

Transformed by Temptation In His Presence: Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am being tempted by God"; for God cannot be tempted by evil, and He Himself does not tempt anyone (James 1:13). Temptation can be defined as a solicitation to do evil. Remember, nothing can come your way without divine approval. Whether it’s a test or a temptation, positive or negative, it has to flow through God’s fingers first. He has to allow the devil to tempt us, and at the same time He is testing us. If a temptation comes to you, God had to allow it to come, but He is not the source of that temptation. We find this truth in the story of Job. Satan said the only reason Job was serving God was that God was so good to him, so God allowed the devil to tempt Job. So Satan solicited Job to curse God. This was a test that showed Job’s faithfulness to God when he didn’t give in to the temptation. One Minute Please God allows temptation for our development, not our destruction. TE

Prodigal or Pig?

Prodigal or Pig? “It would be better if they had never known the way to righteousness than to know it and then reject the command they were given to live a holy life” (2 Peter 2:21 NLT). My granddaughters have a pet pig, and they named him Sunday. He sounds like a pig, he looks like a pig, and if he were given the choice, he would like to be back in the mud like a pig. That’s because a pig is a pig. Jesus told a story in the gospel of Luke about a son who ran away from his father, went to a far country, and made a mess out of his life. But then he came to his senses and returned home, and his father welcomed him and forgave him. We call him the prodigal son. And a prodigal always will come back home to the Father. So, are you a prodigal son or daughter, or are you a pig? I don’t mean that as an insult. You decide which one you will be. The Bible tells us, “It would be better if they had never known the way to righteousness than to know it and then reject the command they were given to

What about us today?

What about us today? We are surrounded by unbelieving people in our society and their values and practices are often opposed to those of Christ. Are we influenced by our society and culture in the way we live or do we keep Biblical principles and standards as our way of life? Dear God,Heavenly Father, we are sorry for falling under the influence of our society in our way of life and not keeping to your standards. Please forgive us and strengthen us so that we live according to your word and not according to the ways of the world. In Jesus' Holy Name, Amen.  Romans 15:13 Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

1 Corinthians 3:19-20 1 Corinthians 4:6-7

1 Corinthians 3:19-20 19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness to God. As it says in the book of Job, God uses man’s own brilliance to trap him; he stumbles over his own “wisdom” and falls. 20 And again, in the book of Psalms, we are told that the Lord knows full well how the human mind reasons and how foolish and futile it is. 1 Corinthians 4:6-7 6 I have used Apollos and myself as examples to illustrate what I have been saying: that you must not have favorites. You must not be proud of one of God’s teachers more than another. 7 What are you so puffed up about? What do you have that God hasn’t given you? And if all you have is from God, why act as though you are so great, and as though you have accomplished something on your own?

A Dark Sabbath

At times in our lives, God may seem absent, but ultimately we know that He will never leave us (Heb. 13:5). And unlike the disciples, we’ll never experience the dark prospect of a failed Savior. But many times we forget the promises of God. In the face of uncertainty, how frequently do we turn to a “do-it-yourself” Christianity to fix our problems? Too often we look no further than our own solutions, when what we need is the wonder-working power of Christ’s resurrection and a posture of humility as we wait on Him. If we are willing to wait through the darkness of night, we can rest in knowing that morning will surely come.

Authentic Christianity

“For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome” (1 John 5:3 NKJV). Can a Christian lose his or her salvation? When you put your faith in Jesus, you don’t have to worry about losing your salvation. God gives us this promise: “The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God” (Romans 8:16 NKJV). And 1 John 5:13 tells us, “These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God” (NKJV). We can know this as a fact. But what about people who make an initial profession of faith, look as though God has really changed their lives, and then bail out a few weeks or months later? Were they saved and then no longer are? The better question is this: Were they really Christians to begin with? It reminds me of what Jesus said in the parable of the sower. He talked about seeds that a sowe

The first question is “How can I know for sure if I have the Holy Spirit in me?”

The first question is “How can I know for sure if I have the Holy Spirit in me?” The second question is “How can I be filled with the Holy Spirit?” Now, it is possible to be in a season of true Christian life and not be filled with the Holy Spirit. And that’s what I’m not sure thy understand. But it is not possible to be a Christian at all if one does not have the Holy Spirit dwelling within us. Every Christian Has the Spirit Some people are confused about that. The Bible makes it clear that the Holy Spirit does not indwell the unbeliever, for the Spirit comes only to those who acknowledge Jesus Christ as Lord. To be a Christian is to have the Spirit of Christ. Romans 8:9: “You . . . are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him.” There are no Christians who don’t have the Holy Spirit. “So, how do you know if you have the Holy Spirit?” they ask. And I’m responding, “You know you

What Is Your True Purpose Again

What Is Your True Purpose Again 1 Samuel 16:6-13 What do you live for each day? A pay raise? Retirement? Then perhaps you've discovered the reality that basing aspirations on getting ahead in this world typically ends in disappointment. People with a misguided sense of direction often wonder why they feel unfulfilled. Maybe you've already realized a goal of saving for the future or moving up the corporate ladder. You give to charity and volunteer at church, but somehow still feel a sense of insignificance or aimlessness. If so, there is a truth you need to hear: God give s each of us life for a very specific reason: to serve Him. Nobody finds inner peace without reconciling this fact. Our society teaches us that pleasure, prosperity, position, and popularity will make us happy--but living in the service of self always leave s an emptiness no earthly reward can fill. Besides, worldly philosophy won't stand the test of time. Few of us are going to live even 100 years. So wha

Spiritual death

"Spiritual death means something more than separation from God. Spiritual death also means having Satan's nature...Jesus tasted death--spiritual death--for every man." Additionally: "Spiritual death means having Satan's nature." (Blasphemous teaching. Jesus never tasted Satan's nature. Jesus never had Satan's nature.) So the lesson here is watch what you read and follow and to see who said this just use a search engine. If we can protect each other from false teachings when we hear them, then we will not need to warn each other of false teachers when they've gone too far. The teacher should not be untouchable. Their words should always be screen through our discernment, prayer, and scripture study. A teacher has a high accountability for every word they claim as truth...we can bear this burden a bit by catching errors as they come up....picking the lint off their collars.   "DISCLAIMER" You are free to read and worship whatever way you

Philippians 3

Paul wrote in Philippians 3 that he wanted "to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in His sufferings, becoming like Him in His death." Although it seems impossible to want to experience this horrific scene, the miracle this story offers is that we can truly know Christ. When we look at the peace, joy, serenity, and grace shining through all the violence, you can see the beauty of becoming like Him in His death. How simple His life had been trusting wholly on God. He had no earthly care but a mother who He entrusted to His best friend. His only asset was a robe that fell to a gambling guard. That simplicity. That clarity of focus. That devotion to God's purpose. That complete trust in His Father. That is something to long for.

Baptism is symbolic of the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ

Baptism is symbolic of the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ. Once we have accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior, baptism is a way for us to publicly declare our new life in Christ. It is also a step of obedience based on God’s commands and allows us to follow the example of Jesus, who submitted himself to baptism to "fulfill all righteousness." Matthew 3:16-17, 28:18-20 Acts 2:41, 8:12 Romans 6:4 Colossians 2:12

Dear Reader

Reader, let us ask, do you make this your constant prayer? Remember that the same Christ who tells us to say, "Give us this day our daily bread," had first given us this petition, "Hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven." Let not your prayers be all concerning your own sins, your own wants, your own imperfections, your own trials, but let them climb the starry ladder, and get up to Christ Himself, and then, as you draw nigh to the blood-sprinkled mercy-seat, offer this prayer continually, "Lord, extend the kingdom of Thy dear Son." Such a petition, fervently presented, will elevate the spirit of all your devotions. Mind that you prove the sincerity of your prayer by labouring to promote the Lord's glory.

When We Worry

When we worry, it’s a failure on our part to trust God. Jesus said, “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today” (Matthew 6:34 NLT). The word worry comes from a term that means “to choke.” And that’s what worry does. It creates mental and emotional strangulation in your life. Worry actually makes things worse, because when you worry about the future, you cripple yourself in the present. GL

Glory in the Cross

As for me, God forbid that I should boast about anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. —Galatians 6:14 (TLB) What glory is there in the cross? It was an instrument of torture and shame. Why did Paul glory in it? He gloried in it because the most selfless act ever performed by men or angels took place upon it. He saw-emanating from that rough, unartistic beam upon which the Son of God had been crucified—the radiant hope of the world, the end of the believer’s bondage to sin, and the love of God shed abroad in the hearts of men. A lone man dying on a cross did more to restore man’s lost harmony with God, his fellowman, and himself, than the combined genius and power of earth’s mighty. With my finite limitations, I cannot fully comprehend the mystery of Christ’s atonement. I only know that all who come to the cross in simple, trusting faith lose all their guilty stains and find peace with God. Prayer for the day Like the Apostle Paul, Father, help me to glory in the cross of
